A tender was held for Gulf Passage Bridge which will be a part of Istanbul-Izmir Highway and benefit Yalova.

 

Nurol Insaat-Ozaltin Insaat-Makyol Insaat-Astaldi Insaat-Yuksel Insaat-Gocay Insaat joint venture bid for the shortest construction and operation time with 22 years and four months for Izmir Gulf Passage and Yalova and Bursa-Balikesir-Izmir Highway Project which will be carried out through the build-operate-transfer method.

 

Gulf Bridge, whose tender for its parts from Dilburnu near Kocaeli’s Gebze town’s Dilovasi district, narrowest point of Izmit Gulf and Cape of Hersek in Karamursel district was held, will be world’s second longest bridge at a length of 3700 meters. Izmit Gulf Passage and Bursa-Balikesir-Izmir Highway, will stretch from Gebze and will be connected to Yalova, Orhangazi by passing the Gulf via the bridge. The highway will proceed from Bursa to Balikesir and end in Izmir. The length of the highway is calculated to be 421 kilometers.

 

Yalova is on the coast of Gulf of Izmit which is the heartland of the Turkish industry and in the middle of Bursa-Adapazari line. All the essential things for industry are present in Yalova. Ports, customs, banks, highways for transportation of raw materials and products, subsidiary industries, qualified manpower for every sector are in this region. Turkey’s largest specialized organized industry site for horticultural sector and greenhousing is being established in Yalova which has a climate where every kind of vegetable and fruit can be cultivated.
